"City Weekly is proud to present the 2010 City Weekly Music Awards. This year's nominees were selected by a committee of local movers and shakers who are deeply invested in Utah bands. Their passion for homegrown sound is part business, all pleasure. Given the tremendous amount of talented acts in our backyard, narrowing down the field of potential nominees proved difficult as always. Judges ranked each act based on talent, professionalism and initiative (i.e., how often does the artist tour? Record?). The resulting Top 30 represent just a portion of the state's best, most promising musicians."
